Suntje Sagerer

Suntje Sagerer is an independent visual artist whose multifaceted practice encompasses drawing, painting, digital photography, sculpture, and expansive multimedia installations. In 2014, she founded the Minimal Art Gallery (MAG) – an innovative exhibition format that presents contemporary artworks on a miniature scale while functioning both as a serial multimedia sculpture and as a social sculpture.

Her mixed-media works investigate societal conditions and transformations. By reflecting artistically and employing a wide range of media, Sagerer reorders social and cultural phenomena, aiming for a deeper understanding of their structures and dynamics.

Guided by a strong DIY ethos and an ability to merge diverse media, she deliberately distances herself from the authority of the traditional art world and establishes her own artistic platform. Her works are characterized by striking visual compositions that open new perspectives—enriching the creative process while placing the viewer in an active, participatory role.
